New York, New York

Well we have finally arrive in NYC. After a gruelling 30 hours of travel time, very little sleep and bad food, we are here. Woo hoo!!!

Our first stop was Sydney for a few hours waiting for the international flight. So a sight seeing we went. Of coarse the harbour bridge and Opera House were the destination of choice.

Beautiful Sydney weather

Then it was on the plane again for the 13 hour leg from Sydney to San Francisco. Unfortunately United Airlines had no televisions in the back of the seats so we had to watch the communal tv and hope you could see all the movie. In the words of Caitlin "This is the most boring flight I have ever been on".  I guess that happens when you have no instagram!!!

Then it was a quick rush through customs (translated 1 1/2 hour waiting in the customs line then a run to catch the flight) and the next leg from San Fran to NYC - 5.5 hours.

Ohhh... NY Fire Department

Well as I type this it is 1 am here. 3pm in Brisbane. So its off to sleep for me (hopefully). Here's hoping to no jet lag tomorrow.

Our Trip Overseas

Well it has been a while since I have been here. Life happens and things get forgotten. So now it's time to pick it up again. Something exciting is happening and I thought I would use my blog to keep record. We are going on a long awaited family holiday to the East Coast of America.

We hop on the plane Monday 9th September (this Monday, Ahhhh...) and fly from Brisbane to Sydney, then onto New York. After a few days there its off to Boston, Washington DC, Norfolk, Savannah, Charleston and then to Miami, where we hop on a boat and cruise around The Bahamas for 4 days. (eeeee...- squeal).  Then its on a plane and up to Philadelphia and then home.

This holiday has been 4 years in the making, so I am really looking forward to it. And instead of writing a boring old, we did this and we did that, travel journal, I thought a blog would do the trick, complete with pictures.

So who knows what the next 6 weeks will hold for the three of us world travellers :) But here is the place it will all be revealed.

I will be posting instagram photos as well. You can follow me @sarahattard.

Bon Voyage!!!

Lets Go Shopping

Time for some etsy shopping and the "Lets Go Shopping" meme with BrisStyle.

As I sit here typing this it is cold and rainy out side, my feet are cold and the winter chill has definitely set in. So I set out to find some toasty slippers, scarfs and other warming things on etsy. Red is such a warm colour so lets go with that.

What do you think?

Lets Go Shopping

This is my first week joining in the BrisStyle meme "Let's Go Shopping". So here are my finds.

I just love hearts (hence the name)... so when searching for hearts on Etsy I found these delightful green heart earrings and decided to go with the green theme. I'm happy with the end result!

Handmade Love for the Flood Appeal

I am privileged to be part of the BrisStyle etsy team who has banded together to raise money for the Premier's Flood Relief Appeal by way of BrisStyle's "Handmade Ark" Flood Appeal”.

To help out all you need to do is search 'BrisStyle Ark' on etsy or click here and purchase some of the hundreds of handmade goodies that are being donated to raise the much needed funds.

So far the floods have devastated 75% of Queensland with a loss of 12 lives and many more still missing. Thousands of people have lost everything and the rebuilding will take months and months.

If you would like to donate to the Flood Relief Appeal you can do so here. Every little bit counts.

I have also donated some handmade items to the Etsians Australian Flood Appeal. All proceeds from them also go to the Flood Relief Appeal. Check out what they have to offer here.
